studio 3.

studio 3 focused on passive sustainability. we were tasked with creating a low rise-high density urban housing development using passively sustainable design techniques based on an existing precedent that we researched.

studio 2.

created abstract systems models based on a verb (in this case ”interpolate”), then modifying them based on the inverse verb (“exfiltrate”). we then used pieces of these models to create a funeral home or memorial for a specific group of people, in my case I chose to make a memorial for the first Mars colonists.

two pavilions and hardscape at a 60ftx80ft site along the bank of the youghiogheny river. the pavilions were designed by breaking down a 20ftx20ftx6ft volume and a 10ftx10ftx20ft volume in no more than 5 moves to embody the characteristics of a public and private space, respectively. the pavilions were then put onto the site along with a boat dock and hardscape which was laid out to emphasize the publicity and privacy of the two pavilions.

Amps air.

bentushar worked as part of an initial focus group with sol republic headphones helping develop ideas and providing feedback for many technological features and design aspects of their new groundbreaking amps air. the amps air have finally truly cut the cord for high quality earbuds and are an archetypal example of harmony between technology, utility, and artistic design. they feature the high end audio and reasonable price tag that sol republic is known for, as well as sweat and dirt-wicking ridges which keep the amps air securely in your ears, multi-functional media buttons which allow the wearer to play, pause, take phone calls, and even prompt siri, and a sleek charging and carrying case which doubles as a phone charger. you can check out more of the awesome features and get a pair for yourself at www.solrepublic.com
